Biography
Christian Dupont was appointed in 2014 as Burns Librarian and Associate University Librarian for Special Collections at Boston College. John J. Burns Library is recognized for extensive rare and archival holdings pertaining to Irish history, literature, culture, and traditional music, including the largest collection of Flann O’Brien’s personal papers and artifacts and books from his personal library.
Christian’s scholarly and publication interests range widely. Since coming to Boston College, Christian has been speaking and publishing on topics related to Irish Studies, including a series of articles on Irish artworks in Burns Library for the Irish Arts Review. He has attended and presented at several International Flann O’Brien Conferences, and curated two exhibitions on Flann O'Brien: Genius of Genre and Flanntasmagoria!, featuring artworks by David, Eddie, and Joanna O'Kane.
