Theatre director Andrew Sherlock describes in detail the challenge of adapting Myles na gCopaleen's 'The Brother' columns for the stage, including a detailed overview of the conceptualisation and rehearsal process. Includes a reflection of O'Nolan's place in the comic theatrical tradition, from the Commedia through Phillipe Gaulier’s buffoon clown, to Jacques Le Coq’s mime training
