Abstract
In this article, John Wyse Jackson, one of O'Nolan's own great editors, traces the fortunes and literary relationship of Brian O'Nolan and Patrick Kavanagh, from the ‘Letters Controversies’ in The Irish Times, through their collaborations in Kavanagh's Weekly, The Bell, and Envoy, to the first Bloomsday celebrations.
